You can call me Ali. I’m a co-founder of Lean Agency.

My wife Mel is my partner in crime and the other co-founder of our agency consulting business..

Together we’ve built 3 successful agencies and helped dozens of others do the same.

I’m an immigrant from the Middle East who came to Australia 10 years ago with nothing but a dream to make a better life. 

Since then, I’ve built and scaled three marketing agencies, selling the second one in 2022.

Over the past decade, our clients have experienced a minimum of 20% growth every month.

When you compound that over a year, it becomes almost 200% growth.

But it wasn’t always smooth sailing…

Like many business owners, I didn’t build my first business the right way. 

(In fact, I probably made more mistakes than I am ready to admit!)

I tried to figure things out myself. 

(As entrepreneurs, we love figuring things out, right?)

That led to constant client chasing, stretching myself too thin, and sacrificing my freedom and passion in the pursuit of growth.

When I started my first business, my goal wasn’t to build an empire. 

I just wanted to create a better life for myself in a new country. 

But as the business grew, so did the challenges.

Before I knew it, I was trapped in a cycle of:

I was doing everything “right” according to the traditional business model.

I had a growing client base, a team of talented people, and revenue that many would envy. 

From the outside, it looked like success.

(It’s funny what people consider success when they see you constantly on the phone – he is running a business! )

But the reality?

I was miserable as hell.

I was so caught up in the day-to-day operations that I had no time to focus on strategy or growth.

Every new client meant more work, not more freedom.

My profit margins were shrinking as I hired more people to handle the workload.

The breaking point came when I realised I couldn’t remember the last time I’d had dinner with my family without checking my phone every five minutes.

I was physically present, but mentally, I was always at work.

I knew something had to change. 

I couldn’t keep sacrificing everything for a business that was supposed to give me freedom, not take it away.

That’s when I had my epiphany:

The traditional business model was broken.

It wasn’t just me. 

I saw the same struggles in business after business.

Talented, hardworking owners burning out, their dreams of freedom and success slipping away.

I knew there had to be a better way.
